Overview
The Assistant AD, Equipment Operations oversees athletic equipment and apparel programs. This role manages a $1,000,000 budget and serves as the primary liaison with the apparel provider. It includes overseeing inventory systems, physical equipment handling, uniform services, and staff supervision. The position differs by focusing on strategic oversight and direct liaison with vendors.
What You'll Do11
- 1Purchase and budget administration manage a $1,000,000 budget and develop equipment and apparel budgets across 19 varsity sports
- 2Design and maintain computerized inventory systems analyzing trends to reduce duplication and improve purchasing efficiency
- 3Oversee daily equipment room operations including issuing fitting tracking and maintaining athletic apparel and uniforms
- 4Coordinate apparel distribution maintenance and replacement of practice gear towels and competition uniforms
- 5Recruit recommend hire train schedule supervise and evaluate student assistants and team managers
- 6Develop standard operating procedures for equipment rooms laundry facilities and storage areas
- 7Ensure compliance with university policies safety civility information security and non-discrimination guidelines
- 8Maintain clean organized secure equipment rooms and laundry facilities
- 9Provide defensive driving training and enroll in DMV Employee Pull Notice Program for required vehicle use
- 10Conduct background checks as mandated by CSULB policy
- 11Promote positive campus relationships and contribute to university excellence vision
Requirements11
- 1Bachelor's degree equivalent to a related field with two years supervisory experience required
- 2Three years of experience preferred
- 3American Red Cross First Aid Certificate possession required
- 4Valid driver license needed
- 5Ability to lift 20-40 pounds and stand squat kneel or walk 20-40 percent of the time
- 6Strong organizational time management and interpersonal communication skills
- 7Proficiency with inventory database management systems and Microsoft Word Excel
- 8Ability to communicate with ethnically diverse campus community
- 9Knowledge of CSU Classification Salary Range $4,908 Step 1 to $7,150 Step 20
- 10Understanding of NCAA conference rules and regulations
- 11Background check completion satisfaction required
