Assessment Therapist, Behavioral Health & ASAM SUD Expertise
Overview
Assessment Therapist at LBHS leads diagnostic assessment, initial treatment planning, and LOC determinations for SUD clients. You will work with a multidisciplinary team to translate assessments into person-centered, culturally competent plans. This onsite Columbus role emphasizes adherence to ASAM Criteria and PHI regulations while delivering impactful, compassionate care in a full continuum setting.
What You'll Do10
- 1Build comprehensive diagnostic assessments and initial treatment plans for clients
- 2Determine appropriate clinical level of care following ASAM Criteria for adults with SUD
- 3Collaborate with clients to identify clinical and support priorities and activate necessary services
- 4Expand assessments to develop a detailed, comprehensive treatment plan within the first 90 days
- 5Maintain accurate clinical records compliant with quality and billing standards
- 6Deliver relapse prevention and safety planning as needed and make external referrals as appropriate
- 7Contribute to program development and planning and respond to clinical information requests as allowed by law
- 8Ensure PHI communications comply with 42 CFR Part 2, HIPAA, and relevant mental health laws
- 9Coordinate with the team to ensure timely admission processes and documentation
- 10Engage in ongoing professional responsibilities including supervision and continuing education as needed
Requirements9
- 1Active LISW LPCC LSW or LPC license required
- 2Strong experience conducting Diagnostic Assessments
- 3Knowledge of co-occurring disorders in behavioral health
- 4Competency in Mental Status Examination and Lethality Assessment
- 5Excellent written and spoken communication skills
- 6Ability to organize and manage large volumes of files, schedules, and information
- 7Must pass BCI check and employment drug screen
- 8Experience with DSM-5 and ASAM Criteria for adults preferred
- 9Ability to develop person-centered, culturally competent SNAP-based treatment plans
