Assembler 3 - Semiconductor Assembly & Soldering
Overview
You own precision assembly of complex electronic and electro-mechanical systems, building microscopic components for semiconductor test products. Working in a cleanroom environment with microscopes and specialized fixtures, you'll assemble polymer membranes onto electronic probe components, using UV curing and laser-cut equipment. You'll collaborate with a tight-knit production team and train junior assemblers, driving process improvements that boost yield and throughput. This night shift role (Sunday-Tuesday and every other Saturday, 5:00 PM - 5:30 AM) offers a 15% shift differential and the chance to impact semiconductor innovation at a NASDAQ-listed company.
What You'll Do10
- 1Operate laser-cutting equipment to cut and extract polymer membranes for assembly or engineering evaluation.
- 2Assemble polymer membranes onto electronic probe components, including membrane attachment, clamping, UV curing, and managing cure times.
- 3Perform mechanical attachment of miniature, mixed-material components using screw fasteners, adhesives, and precision alignment tools.
- 4Prioritize assembly tasks to maximize throughput based on build requirements, cure times, and production due dates.
- 5Read and interpret assembly documentation, including BOMs, schematics, diagrams, and written work instructions.
- 6Perform mathematical calculations, including tolerance stack-ups, to evaluate component fit and performance.
- 7Assemble microscopic parts using specialized jigs, fixtures, hand tools, and microscopes, meeting quality standards.
- 8Set up and perform testing to validate build specifications and confirm assembly accuracy.
- 9Collect, analyze, and report SPC data to monitor and improve process stability and yield.
- 10Handle chemicals, including adhesives and solvents, while following PPE and safety protocols.
Requirements9
- 12-4 years of related experience in semiconductor assembly or similar precision manufacturing.
- 2Proven ability to assemble extremely small, fragile, and high-tolerance components using microscopes and specialized fixtures.
- 3Strong dexterity and hand-eye coordination for fine-motor tasks; comfortable working at a microscope up to 80% of a shift.
- 4Experience reading schematics, BOMs, and detailed work instructions.
- 5Proficiency with laser-cutting equipment and UV curing processes, or ability to learn quickly.
- 6Ability to perform tolerance stack-up calculations and basic math.
- 7Experience with soldering (including SMT or PCB soldering) preferred.
- 8Ability to lift up to 15 lbs and follow safety protocols, including wearing ESD-safe protective equipment.
- 9Willingness to work the required night shift schedule (Sunday, Monday, Tuesday, and every other Saturday, 5 PM - 5:30 AM).
