Overview

You will own technical engineering support for the Assistant Program Manager - Engineering (APM E), driving integration and technical rigor for Navy afloat and enterprise network modernization. You will lead systems engineering efforts for CANES, ADNS, and integrated tactical networks, coordinating with PMW 160 and external Program Management Offices. You will work with cross-functional teams at NAVWAR, NIWC Pacific, and PEO C4I to ensure alignment with technical authority standards. This role offers direct impact on fleet readiness and cybersecurity compliance, with a focus on Zero Trust and RMF frameworks. You will be the go-to engineer for resolving complex technical interfaces and shaping future network baselines.

What You'll Do10

  • 1Serve as primary technical advisor to the APM E, providing expert insight and decision support for delegated Technical Decision Authority.
  • 2Lead systems and network integration for modernization and cyber enhancements across CANES, ADNS, and tactical network baselines.
  • 3Coordinate with external PMWs to manage technical interfaces and ensure alignment on engineering changes.
  • 4Drive Engineering Change Requests (ECRs) and Change Requests (CRs) through review, tracking, and delivery.
  • 5Develop system architectures using MBSE methodologies like SysML/Cameo to improve performance and sustainability.
  • 6Manage configuration documentation, interface diagrams, and technical traceability artifacts.
  • 7Lead technical review events including SETRs, SOVT, and RIO adjudication, implementing action plans.
  • 8Engineer Tactical Network Platform topologies, including Cisco/Juniper routing, VLAN segmentation, and virtualization with VMware ESXi.
  • 9Support ADNS WAN boundaries with policy routing, QoS, and traffic shaping for ship-to-shore communications.
  • 10Assess and manage cyber and systems engineering risks, escalating issues through the Technical Authority chain.

Requirements10

  • 1U.S. Citizenship and ability to maintain a DoD Secret clearance.
  • 26+ years engineering IT systems for DoD or Government Agency.
  • 33+ years engineering tactical networks for DoD.
  • 4Expert knowledge in systems engineering and IT across software and hardware.
  • 5Proven ability to resolve issues spanning multiple technologies and organizations.
  • 6Experience developing architectures aligned with NAVWAR, Zero Trust, RMF, and CYBERSAFE.
  • 75+ years hands-on with Cisco/Juniper routing, switching, firewalls, and IP addressing.
  • 83+ years with virtualization platforms like VMware ESXi and vSAN.
  • 9Working knowledge of MBSE with SysML/Cameo and Navy technical review processes.
  • 10Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Mathematics, or Physical Science.
