Agricultural Equipment Sales Representative, Farm Equipment & Field Territory
Overview
Lead field sales for a large Grant County territory through in-person customer visits and long-term relationship building. Own the sales cycle from prospecting to post-sale follow-up on a diverse range of agricultural equipment. You will learn customer operations and tailor practical equipment solutions to meet production goals. This role emphasizes autonomy, travel, and hands-on learning in a farming environment.
What You'll Do9
- 1Visit farms and customers across the territory to identify needs and opportunities
- 2Maintain and grow existing relationships while proactively developing new business through referrals and disciplined follow-up
- 3Learn each customer's operation, equipment cycle, goals, and challenges to recommend practical equipment solutions
- 4Sell new and pre-owned agricultural equipment and related solutions from SS Equipment lines
- 5Prepare quotes and coordinate trade evaluations, financing options, approvals, and transaction details
- 6Arrange and conduct equipment demonstrations and evaluate equipment in real operating conditions
- 7Transport equipment for demonstrations and deliveries following safety procedures
- 8Maintain accurate CRM records with customer, opportunity, activity, and follow-up data
- 9Coordinate delivery and startup with internal teams and support long-term customer relationships
Requirements10
- 1Practical familiarity with agriculture, farming operations, or agricultural equipment
- 2Ability to build trust, ask good questions, listen carefully, and communicate clearly with growers and internal teams
- 3Self-motivation and willingness to prospect for new business beyond inbound leads
- 4Strong work ethic, reliable follow-through, and ability to manage a large territory and long sales cycle
- 5Willingness to learn product specifications, trade values, financing concepts, and dealership processes
- 6Basic proficiency with email, web tools, and CRM software
- 7Valid driver's license and acceptable driving record
- 8Experience safely hitching, towing, backing, and maneuvering equipment trailers; CDL not required
- 9Ability to travel regularly and work extended hours as needed
- 10Legal authorization to work in the United States
