Aerospace Electrical Engineer, Systems Test & Integration
Overview
As an Aerospace Electrical Engineer on our Systems Test and Integration team, you will own the test lifecycle for complex electronic systems in Washington, DC. You will troubleshoot hardware, software, and firmware issues across multiple subsystems, collaborating with engineers from diverse disciplines. Your work directly supports flight-critical avionics and sensor platforms. This contract role offers exposure to EOIR systems, RFEW technology, and EMI testing, with opportunities to grow your expertise in MATLAB, C++, and Python. You will drive integration tests from planning to execution, ensuring system performance meets stringent requirements.
What You'll Do8
- 1Design and execute integration test plans for complex electronic systems, using MATLAB and Python scripts to automate validation.
- 2Troubleshoot hardware, software, and firmware defects during system integration, isolating root causes with oscilloscopes and logic analyzers.
- 3Perform Design Verification Tests and Environmental Qualification Testing to verify system performance under extreme conditions.
- 4Conduct Electromagnetic Interference (EMI) testing and analyze results to ensure compliance with military standards.
- 5Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define test requirements and resolve integration issues across EOIR and RFEW subsystems.
- 6Write and execute test scripts in C or C++ for automated test equipment, reducing manual test cycles.
- 7Document test procedures and results, maintaining traceability to system requirements.
- 8Support field testing and travel to customer sites for system integration and validation.
Requirements9
- 12+ years of related experience with a BS in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related technical degree, or MS fresh out.
- 2Experience troubleshooting hardware, software, and firmware issues in complex systems.
- 3Demonstrated ability to work in a collaborative environment with multiple stakeholders.
- 4Must be a US Citizen and pass background and drug screens.
- 5Experience in an integration and test environment for complex electronic systems evaluation.
- 6Working knowledge of one or more specialty areas: EOIR, sensors, optics, RFEW, DSP, antenna design, computational electromagnetics, RF test equipment.
- 7Knowledge of MATLAB, C, C++, Java, Python, or other scripting languages.
- 8Ability and willingness to work independently with little oversight.
- 9Ability and willingness to travel.
Salary Insight
$20 - $80k per year
