Overview

You will own Part 25 and Part 23 STC programs for airborne equipment installations, driving projects from initiation to certification with the FAA or ODA. You'll work within a multidisciplinary team of design, certification, and testing engineers in Miami, FL, coordinating directly with operators and regulatory stakeholders. Your role ensures technical and regulatory compliance while managing schedules and communications. This position offers the chance to shape certification strategies for real-time aircraft data systems, requiring deep knowledge of DO-178, DO-254, and DO-160.

What You'll Do10

  • 1Lead Part 25 and Part 23 STC programs for airborne equipment installations, meeting technical and regulatory requirements within the first 90 days.
  • 2Initiate and manage STC programs with the FAA or ODA, coordinating with operators and stakeholders throughout the certification lifecycle.
  • 3Prepare certification documents including certification plans, compliance checklists, safety assessments, and conformity plans per applicable regulations.
  • 4Support compliance activities such as conformity inspections and FAA-witnessed ground functional and EMI testing.
  • 5Ensure adherence to engineering processes and promote continuous improvement in methods and documentation.
  • 6Coordinate parts and installation conformity inspections to verify compliance with approved design data.
  • 7Maintain detailed project schedules, track milestones, and communicate progress, risks, and issues to stakeholders.
  • 8Provide practical engineering solutions based on research, analysis, and interpretation of technical data and regulations.
  • 9Generate product design and certification documentation in accordance with DO-178, DO-254, DO-160, and other airworthiness standards.
  • 10Support real-time aircraft data systems that enhance operational efficiency, safety, and performance.

Requirements10

  • 15+ years of experience with FAA certification planning, including certification plans and compliance strategies.
  • 23-5 years of program management experience, including scheduling, resource coordination, and stakeholder communication.
  • 3Hands-on experience with compliance activities such as conformity inspections, testing, and documentation control.
  • 4Exposure to working with an ODA for certification programs.
  • 53+ years familiarity with testing and inspection processes for avionics systems and airborne equipment installations.
  • 6Knowledge of Supplemental Type Certification (STC) processes and best practices for avionics modifications.
  • 7Experience generating documentation and supporting compliance to DO-178, DO-254, DO-160, and related standards.
  • 8Understanding of real-time aircraft data systems and their role in operational efficiency, safety, and performance.
  • 9Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, interpreting complex regulations and technical data.
  • 10Comfort working in a dynamic environment with shifting priorities based on program and regulatory demands.
