Overview

SpaceX seeks a Sr. Aviation Development Engineer to lead Starlink service launch with airline partners. You will own technical engagement defining process milestones technology trades resource prioritization compliance documentation and certification to certify and introduce Starlink into partner operations. This role requires commanding engineering first principles attention to detail and stakeholder management to deliver results.

What You'll Do11

  • 1Responsible for the technical engagement and successful Starlink service launch of Starlink with airline partners
  • 2Establish and maintain comprehensive program governance delivering accurate timely reporting to customer-facing teams and SpaceX leadership
  • 3Lead strategic program reviews coordination meetings and workshops with internal stakeholders customers and industry partners
  • 4Engage with customers during pre-sales to understand requirements and translate them into actionable technical and operational plans
  • 5Coordinate across company departments vendors and partners to prepare technical compliance and commercial artifacts for licenses type approvals and regulatory audits
  • 6Navigate complex schedules and project dependencies ensuring efficient use of SpaceX resources and customer success
  • 7Work closely with FAA and other aerospace regulatory bodies to ensure full compliance throughout customer engagement
  • 8Manage multiple concurrent projects providing regular updates on schedule and deliverables to senior management
  • 9Act as subject matter expert on SpaceX Aviation Integration process creating alignment across all partners
  • 10Work across all stakeholders to incorporate feedback into project schedules and statement of work
  • 11Ensure documentation deliverables are produced on tight timelines

Requirements13

  • 1Bachelor`s degree in a STEM discipline
  • 25 Years of experience in an engineering function OR a technical program product management role focused on bringing programs products or services to market
  • 3Preferred Skills Software architecture and protocols electrical interfaces and standards wireless data communications mechanical structures or thermal analysis
  • 4Demonstrated ability to conduct commercial and technical trades across partner and internal stakeholders
  • 5Industry certification and regulatory compliance experience
  • 6Experience with commissioning and testing integrating plans
  • 7Previous technical ownership of a complex project involving numerous stakeholders from conception to customer acceptance
  • 8Ability to produce documentation deliverables on a tight timeline
  • 9Extremely strong proficiency with Microsoft Word
  • 10Experience generating schematics diagrams and data visualizations
  • 11Hardware ownership for mechanical or electrical systems through entire lifecycle
  • 12Understanding of failure modes of complex mechanical and electrical systems
  • 13Excellent verbal and written communication skills
