Administrative Assistant Lindemann Young Artist Development Program
Overview
The Metropolitan Opera seeks an attentive Administrative Assistant to provide direct support to the Lindemann Young Artist Development Program. This role reports to the Executive Director with oversight by the Assistant Director. The program was created in 1980 to identify and develop extraordinary talented young artists in opera. It trains new generations of celebrated singers and coaches who perform at the highest standards worldwide.
What You'll Do11
- 1Perform filing data entry email and phone correspondence calendar appointments and departmental communications
- 2Compose distribute and maintain daily and weekly Lindemann Program schedules including tracking of artist releases faculty availability AGMA rehearsal schedules and cancellations using a custom software platform
- 3Input and track payroll and finance data for Artists Employees Contractors Faculty and Staff including union contracts processing reimbursements and updating budgets
- 4Maintain Artists’ professional materials and compile and edit texts translations and other program assets
- 5Oversee social media operations for the program in coordination with the Met’s Communications and Graphics teams
- 6Capture and create content maintain digital assets for archival and current season use
- 7Assist in planning and tracking LYADP Special Events and external engagements including preparing texts and translations
- 8Provide production support as needed
- 9Coordinate auditions master classes and external engagements including scheduling travel proctoring operations and communicating logistical details
- 10Compile and organize materials for visa petitions of international artists
- 11Other administrative tasks as assigned by the Lindemann staff
Requirements11
- 15+ years building ETL pipelines with Spark and Airflow
- 23-5 seasons experience with foreign languages especially Italian German French and Russian
- 35+ years constructing ETL pipelines with Spark and Airflow
- 41-2 years prior administrative experience demonstrating ability to prioritize and self-direct projects
- 5Strong written verbal and interpersonal communication for all aspects of the LYADP in a professional and discreet manner
- 6Excellent computer skills including Microsoft 365 Google suite Adobe Creative Suite including InDesign Canva website and database management standard social media platforms and willingness to learn new software applications
- 7Great attention to detail taking pride in task completion with consistent accuracy
- 8Knowledge of the opera industry and repertoire is required
- 9Fluency or working knowledge of foreign languages is preferred
- 10Proficiency with math accounting and spreadsheets
- 11Ability to work with many personality types and maintain good humor poise discretion and professionalism in a fast-paced work environment
