Activity Assistant, Memory Care & Enrichment Programs
Overview
Memory Care enrichment role focused on planning and delivering meaningful programs for residents with Alzheimer’s and dementia. Owns group and one-on-one activities aimed at social engagement, cognitive stimulation, and emotional well-being. Works with the care team to align activities with care plans and events. This is a hands-on, compassionate position in a resident-first environment.
What You'll Do9
- 1Build and lead group and one-on-one programs tailored to cognitive abilities and personal interests
- 2Design daily activities including music therapy, sensory stimulation, exercise, reminiscence, and art projects
- 3Adapt activities to ensure inclusivity and success for all residents
- 4Coordinate with the care team to align activities with individual care plans
- 5Plan and execute special events, holidays, and seasonal activities for memory care residents
- 6Encourage participation and document outcomes of activities
- 7Review goals and progress notes to inform activity planning
- 8Support caregiving staff during meals and breaks
- 9Assist the Resident Lifestyle Director and Memory Care Director as needed
Requirements10
- 1High School Diploma or equivalent
- 2Certified Dementia Practitioner or Montessori training a plus
- 31-2 years of experience with seniors, preferably leading enrichment activities
- 4Experience with dementia or Alzheimer’s preferred
- 5Proficiency with Word, Excel, Outlook
- 6Ability to work independently and follow scheduled plans
- 7Patience and composure in stressful situations with residents
- 8Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- 9Friendly, assertive, professional, organized, multitasked
- 10Available for flexible shifts including weekends and holidays
