Memory Care Activity Assistant, Senior Living & Dementia Programs
Overview
Own and deliver meaningful life enrichment activities for memory care residents at Cogir Senior Living communities across multiple states. Lead group and one-on-one programs that promote social engagement, cognitive stimulation, and emotional well-being at scale. Collaborate with care teams to align activities with care plans and seasonal events, creating an inclusive, compassionate environment.
What You'll Do9
- 1Build and facilitate group and individual programs tailored to memory care residents
- 2Design daily activities including music therapy, sensory stimulation, exercise, reminiscence, and art projects
- 3Adapt activities to accessibility needs and participant abilities
- 4Coordinate with care teams to complement resident care plans
- 5Plan and execute special events and seasonal activities for memory care residents
- 6Encourage resident participation and document activity outcomes
- 7Review goals and progress notes with supervision
- 8Support caregiving during meals and breaks
- 9Assist the Resident Lifestyle Director and Memory Care Director as needed
Requirements9
- 1High School Diploma or equivalent
- 2Certified Dementia Practitioner or Montessori training is a plus
- 31-2 years of experience with seniors and memory care
- 4Experience with dementia or Alzheimer’s preferred
- 5Basic computer skills including Word, Excel, Outlook
- 6Ability to work independently and follow scheduled plans
- 7Patience and composure in stressful situations
- 8Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- 9Flexible shifts including weekends and holidays
