Overview
The Center Activity Coordinator leads therapeutic recreational programs for elderly participants at a PACE organization. This role develops diverse activities that promote independence and quality of life while collaborating with interdisciplinary teams. The position requires expertise in adult day health services and volunteer coordination.
What You'll Do11
- 1Conduct participant need assessments and maintain care plans
- 2Develop monthly activity schedules reflecting current trends
- 3Provide training and oversight to activity aides and volunteers
- 4Create engaging recreational programs addressing functional needs
- 5Coordinate community outings and transportation logistics
- 6Document participant progress and report observations
- 7Lead recruitment of volunteers and manage program enhancements
- 8Facilitate arts and crafts activities and special events
- 9Ensure therapeutic environment through decor and programming
- 10Maintain QAPI documentation and participate in performance improvement
- 11Perform administrative duties including record keeping and reporting
Requirements7
- 12+ years experience in elderly recreational programming within last 5 years
- 2Certificate of Activity Leadership from California Department of Public Health
- 3High school diploma or equivalent
- 4Ability to lift 10lbs and stand/walk 80% of day
- 5Proficiency in Spanish Cantonese or Mandarin preferred
- 6Strong communication skills and interdisciplinary teamwork ability
- 7Experience with Spanish language proficiency required for participant interactions
