Overview

As an Activities Assistant at Marquis Companies, you will own activity programming for residents in our Skilled Nursing Facility, working directly with the Activities Director to plan and execute ongoing programs. You will also conduct one-on-one activities for residents needing individualized attention, documenting all participation in our electronic medical records system. You will join a team of more than 4,000 employees across 26 senior care facilities in Oregon, Nevada, and California, backed by a mission to champion every journey. What You'll Do9

  • 1Plan and execute daily activity programs in partnership with the Activities Director, ensuring alignment with resident interests and care goals.
  • 2Facilitate group activities such as games, arts and crafts, music, and outings, adapting to varying cognitive and physical abilities.
  • 3Conduct one-on-one activities with residents who require individualized attention, building rapport and fostering engagement.
  • 4Document resident participation and responses in the electronic medical records system, maintaining accurate and timely records.
  • 5Develop and implement an ongoing calendar of activities that promotes socialization, mental stimulation, and physical well-being.
  • 6Coordinate with nursing and therapy staff to integrate activities into resident care plans, ensuring a holistic approach.
  • 7Assist with setup, cleanup, and supply management for activities, maintaining a safe and welcoming environment.
  • 8Support the Activities Director in evaluating program effectiveness and adjusting offerings based on resident feedback and needs.
  • 9Engage residents in community outings and special events, coordinating transportation and supervision as needed.

Requirements7

  • 11+ years experience in activities or recreational therapy in a healthcare setting, with a focus on the elderly population.
  • 2Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to connect with residents, families, and team members.
  • 3Proficiency in computer skills, including experience with electronic medical records systems.
  • 4Bachelor's degree preferred, but relevant experience will be considered.
  • 5Ability to work onsite at our Portland, Oregon facility and participate in a rotating schedule, including weekends or evenings as needed.
  • 6Demonstrated creativity and resourcefulness in planning engaging activities for residents with diverse needs.
  • 7Current CPR certification or ability to obtain upon hire.
