Activities Assistant, Senior Living & Recreation
Overview
Join Capitol Hill Senior Living as an Activities Assistant and own the engagement calendar for residents across all care levels. You will partner with the Activities Director to plan and run daily and monthly events that honor resident individuality and leadership. This onsite role in Salt Lake City connects you with a supportive team guided by CAPLICO values, and you will directly shape moments that make community life vibrant. Your work will include administrative coordination and hands-on activity delivery, with opportunities to transport residents to off-site functions.
What You'll Do8
- 1Co-create the daily and monthly activities calendar with the Activities Director, tailoring programs to all care levels.
- 2Lead scheduled activities and programs, adjusting the pace to keep residents engaged and present.
- 3Encourage resident participation by identifying individual motivators and inviting them to join events.
- 4Support residents who lead activities, helping them feel pride and ownership.
- 5Coordinate community outings, including transporting residents safely with company vehicles.
- 6Post daily calendars, update sign-up sheets, and order activity supplies.
- 7Track resident participation and adjust offerings based on observed interests.
- 8Collaborate with the Activities Director to design special events that celebrate resident achievements.
Requirements8
- 11+ years experience in activities coordination, recreation, or senior care settings.
- 2Knowledge of the physical and emotional aspects of aging.
- 3Effective verbal and written communication skills.
- 4Ability to motivate and positively influence residents.
- 5Valid driver's license and clean driving record for transporting residents.
- 6High school diploma or equivalent.
- 7Certification in CPR and First Aid (or ability to obtain within 30 days of hire).
- 8Flexibility to work weekdays, occasional evenings, and weekends for special events.
