Activities Assistant, Senior Living & Resident Programs
Overview
The Activities Assistant owns and delivers engaging activity programs for seniors, supporting social, physical, mental, emotional, and sensory well being at Seven Hills Senior Living. You will work closely with the Director of Resident Services to plan and lead events, manage calendars, and coordinate transportation and volunteers. This role offers Friday and Saturday shifts, hands on program development, and opportunities to positively impact resident quality of life.
What You'll Do10
- 1Build and lead small, medium, and large group activities for seniors
- 2Promote and facilitate each event or program with Creativity and attention to detail
- 3Assess residents recreational and social needs and contribute to monthly calendars of events
- 4Research and recommend speakers, church representatives, or other community partners
- 5Coordinate transportation for outside events in line with policies and procedures
- 6Accompany residents on field trips and supervise volunteers
- 7Maintain bus interior and exterior and report maintenance needs
- 8Support the Activity Coordinator with planning, promotion, and execution of events
- 9Collaborate with the team to ensure resident programs are inclusive and engaging
- 10Document outcomes and maintain confidentiality of residents' information
Requirements9
- 1Minimum of 1-year activities experience in senior living, retirement, or long term care
- 2Valid Driver’s License with acceptable driving record
- 3Currently possess a Class C license or ability to obtain within 90 days of hire
- 4Proficiency with basic Windows, Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook
- 5Creativity in developing and planning activity programs
- 6Strong group leadership and interpersonal skills for one on one, small, and large groups
- 7Ability to make responsible choices and act in residents' best interest
- 8Strong organizational skills and good work ethic
- 9Maintains confidentiality and effective communication in English
