Overview
Own the Anti-Infective portfolio for a single geography, driving sales growth and patient access across hospitals, IDNs, and academic institutions. You will build strategic relationships with C-suite, physicians, and staff, navigate complex accounts, and coordinate cross-functional teams. This field-based role demands 5+ years of account selling experience and expertise in Buy and Bill and specialty pharmacy channels. You will collaborate with Medical Science Liaisons and Key Account Directors to execute data-driven territory plans.
What You'll Do8
- 1Build and execute a strategic business plan for the assigned geography, targeting hospitals, IDNs, and outpatient accounts to achieve sales goals.
- 2Deliver on-label presentations to highlight product benefits and risks, addressing therapeutic gaps and gaining prescriber commitments.
- 3Develop relationships with key stakeholders across departments, including C-suite, physicians, and support staff, to expand product use.
- 4Problem-solve product and patient flow through Specialty Pharmacy, Specialty Distribution, and Buy and Bill channels.
- 5Partner with in-field teams like Medical Science Liaisons and Key Account Directors to align approaches and tactics.
- 6Analyze account data to create profiles and relationship maps, targeting decision-makers to maximize call effectiveness.
- 7Attend local boards, societies, and conventions to represent AbbVie and build relationships with HCPs.
- 8Complete all AbbVie required training and maintain compliance with HCIR credentialing and company policies.
Requirements10
- 15+ years of industry experience, with 3+ years in pharmaceutical/health/science, and a high school diploma/GED required.
- 2Bachelor’s degree in health, sciences, pharmacy, or business-related field preferred, or equivalent experience.
- 3Account-based selling experience in hospitals, wound care centers, or infusion centers, with a history of building advocacy.
- 4Experience navigating matrix environments within complex customers like IDNs, academic institutions, and hospitals.
- 5Knowledge of the formulary approval process and a track record of driving formulary approvals.
- 6Experience with Buy and Bill and specialty pharmacy products preferred.
- 7Documented history of strong sales performance, consistently a top performer in a challenging market.
- 8Proven advanced sales skills: ability to communicate complex products, overcome objections, and advance sales.
- 9Strong business acumen with individual accountability for a sales geography, problem-solving, and influencing without authority.
- 10Valid driver’s license, ability to pass a pre-employment drug screen, and meet HCIR credentialing requirements.
