Academic Support Coach (Direct Support Professional) - CSUN

What You'll Do11
- 1Provide direct support to adult clients with IDD in natural community settings
- 2Create and implement workshop lesson plans aligned with client goals
- 3Maintain 1:3 ratio for Generating All Possibilities clients and 1:1 for Tailored Services
- 4Submit daily notes and ISP reports to supervisors
- 5Monitor client progress and adjust interventions accordingly
- 6Support clients in accessing educational resources and community accommodations
- 7Collaborate with regional supervisors to determine necessary accommodations
- 8Attend regular supervision meetings and meet weekly with managers
- 9Lead weekly workshops addressing specific client needs and objectives
- 10Ensure compliance with Individual Support Plans and DSM V guidelines
- 11Coordinate with campus disability services for post-secondary educational support
Requirements9
- 1Bachelor's degree with relevant experience in special education or social services
- 2Minimum 5+ years of experience in direct support or case management
- 3Proven ability to design and implement effective educational programs
- 4Strong communication skills with ability to work independently and in teams
- 5Physical stamina to perform light lifting and movement throughout the day
- 6Familiarity with educational systems and accessibility resources
- 7Experience supporting clients through higher education transitions
- 8Ability to adapt to diverse client needs and changing circumstances
- 9Commitment to ethical practice and confidentiality standards
Salary Insight
$42 - $46k per year
