2nd Shift DC Supervisor, Inventory & Warehouse Operations
Overview
You will own the 2nd shift distribution center operation at Advance Auto Parts, supervising a team of warehouse associates across shipping, receiving, and inventory control. You'll coordinate with operations managers and telephone sales to hit cut-off times, reduce shortages, and maintain accurate inventory. This role puts you on the floor, directing daily workflows, enforcing safety rules, and driving performance metrics. You'll also recommend process changes to improve efficiency and ensure all store material stays organized and clearly identified.
What You'll Do7
- 1Direct daily work schedules for warehouse associates, balancing shipping, receiving, loading, stacking, picking, and palletizing tasks.
- 2Coordinate storage layouts and delivery schedules to meet distribution objectives and customer requirements, ensuring all store material is organized and labeled.
- 3Enforce safety rules and ensure equipment, including company vehicles, complies with city, state, and federal laws, including proper hazardous material handling.
- 4Monitor attendance, productivity, and performance metrics, providing counseling and coaching to associates as needed.
- 5Collaborate with warehouse and operations managers, telephone sales, and other supervisors to align shipment cut-off times and address merchandise shortages.
- 6Maintain records and reports, including lost sales, error report, and production report, to track operational accuracy and performance.
- 7Recommend changes to procedures that improve warehouse efficiency and reduce errors.
Requirements6
- 11-3 years prior warehouse or distribution center experience.
- 2Experience in material handling, inventory tracking, and providing work direction to teammates.
- 3Associate Degree or equivalent warehouse experience.
- 4Ability to work 2nd shift in Nashville, Tennessee, onsite.
- 5Bi-lingual skills preferred but not required.
- 6Knowledge of warehouse safety rules and compliance, including hazardous materials handling.
