Yard Worker, Shipping Yard & Light Welding
Overview
You will own the daily maintenance of shipping containers, including cleaning, power washing, and light welding repairs in a busy outdoor yard. MIG welding training is provided. The team operates a stable first shift Monday through Friday, with full-time hours and overtime available. This role stands out for its variety of hands-on tasks and the chance to develop welding skills on the job.
What You'll Do8
- 1Clean and power wash shipping containers to prepare them for repair and repainting.
- 2Repair screw holes using MIG welding equipment after completing company training.
- 3Add signs and paint containers to meet customer specifications.
- 4Climb ladders up to 6 feet to reach all container surfaces safely.
- 5Work outdoors in the shipping yard in all weather conditions.
- 6Follow safety protocols and wear required personal protective equipment.
- 7Assist with yard organization and container movement as needed.
- 8Maintain welding equipment and report any malfunctions to the supervisor.
Requirements8
- 1Previous outdoor work experience in a physical role.
- 2Ability to work outdoors for full shifts in varying weather.
- 3Willingness to be trained on MIG welding equipment.
- 4Ability to climb ladders up to 6 feet high.
- 5Pass a pre-employment drug screen (excluding THC) and background check.
- 6Must be at least 18 years of age.
- 7Must be able to lift heavy materials and stand for extended periods.
- 8Basic English communication skills for safety instructions.
