Overview

The Workshop Manager owns on-site maintenance operations for a busy workshop, driving safe, efficient, and high‑quality workmanship at scale. You will lead the workshop team, manage daily performance and safety standards, and partner with cross‑functional groups to meet financial and customer objectives. This role serves as the primary on‑site leader responsible for operational excellence, resource efficiency, and ongoing improvement while owning the site P&L. You will influence culture and process improvements across maintenance, service planning, and facility upgrades.

What You'll Do10

  • 1Lead and manage the workshop team to deliver safe, efficient, and high‑quality maintenance operations.
  • 2Oversee daily workflow including vehicle turnaround times, productivity, repairs, breakdowns, and new work requirements.
  • 3Manage the workshop floor and yard to ensure organization, cleanliness, and compliance with standards.
  • 4Conduct daily reviews of completed work to ensure accurate parts, labor, and descriptions.
  • 5Maintain accountability for the site’s financial performance including ownership of the P&L and budget alignment.
  • 6Provide regular performance and operational updates to the Operations Director.
  • 7Oversee servicing, repairs, maintenance planning, inspections, cleaning, and auditing to meet company standards.
  • 8Lead local projects from planning to completion coordinating with landlords, vendors, and internal teams.
  • 9Manage defect approvals including warranty repairs and customer consents before work begins.
  • 10Monitor KPIs and budgets and enforce service standards.

Requirements10

  • 15 years of hands‑on diesel maintenance experience
  • 23‑5 years of leadership/management experience
  • 3Experience in operational environments, preferably Airports/Airlines/Ground Handlers/Airport Service Providers
  • 4Excellent people management skills
  • 5Experience using ERP systems (SAP is a plus)
  • 6Ability to handle confidential information
  • 7Strong numerical and analytical skills with attention to detail
  • 8Proactive and results‑driven with the ability to work independently
  • 9Excellent MS Office skills including Excel and Word
  • 10English communication skills with additional languages a plus
