What You'll Do9
- 1Build a standardized maintenance process across all shops, using AS400 to track repairs and ensure fleet uptime within the first 90 days.
- 2Drive shop P&L performance by reviewing reports and adjusting staffing to meet productivity goals, cutting repair costs by 10%.
- 3Lead a team of shop managers and technicians, setting clear performance metrics and conducting quarterly audits.
- 4Ship vendor compliance by training preferred vendors on US Xpress repair procedures and monitoring their adherence.
- 5Debug operational bottlenecks in shop scheduling and workflow to reduce turnaround time for equipment.
- 6Own safety and compliance by enforcing OSHA and EPA standards across all locations, ensuring zero violations.
- 7Review technician evaluations and recommend pay increases based on performance data and skill development.
- 8Scale cost-saving initiatives by analyzing outsource expenses and in-house repair efficiency with Excel models.
- 9Coordinate with corporate to align vendor contracts with company goals, reducing downtime and parts costs.
Requirements7
- 15+ years managing multiple shop locations in heavy truck maintenance, with a Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
- 2Proven track record of implementing standardized maintenance processes across multiple sites.
- 3Hands-on expertise with AS400, Excel, and Word for data analysis and reporting.
- 4Strong working knowledge of OSHA and EPA regulations, with a focus on compliance.
- 5Preferred certifications: ASE or OEM certifications in heavy truck systems.
- 6Ability to travel to multiple facilities with overnight stays as needed.
- 7Experience with P&L management and cost reduction strategies in a maintenance setting.
