Workforce Advisor, CareerLink & Case Management
Overview
As a Workforce Advisor at JEVS Human Services, you will own the full employment journey for a caseload of 50-80 job seekers at our Suburban Station CareerLink. You will remove barriers to work by connecting participants to childcare, transportation, and counseling, then coach them through job search and career advancement. Collaborating with an integrated team of job developers and community partners, you will turn individuals' goals into measurable employment outcomes. This role stands apart for its direct community impact and the autonomy to design customized plans for each person you serve.
What You'll Do7
- 1Build and maintain referral partnerships with County Assistance Offices, community agencies, and mental health or substance abuse organizations to secure supportive services for participants.
- 2Manage an assigned caseload, completing case notes and follow-up on employment, retention, and termination outcomes within JobGateway.
- 3Drive customer transitions to employment through the Integrated Job Development Team, preparing participants for interviews and job placement.
- 4Assess each customer's computer proficiency, register them for JobGateway, and guide them through welcome, skills, and employment functions.
- 5Coach participants on job search strategies and skill development, enhancing their competitiveness in the local labor market.
- 6Create and update a personalized job search plan for every assigned job seeker, adjusting as goals are met.
- 7Support center operations by covering other functions as needed and documenting all activities in JEVS-specific databases.
Requirements5
- 1Bachelor's degree plus 3+ years of human service or case management experience; equivalent training or experience accepted.
- 2Proven ability to problem-solve and collaborate with customers across diverse backgrounds, including those facing systemic barriers.
- 3Proficiency in MS Office, especially Word and Excel, and willingness to learn internal databases such as JobGateway.
- 4Flexibility to work evenings and Saturdays, with occasional inner-city travel for community meetings.
- 5Commitment to JEVS Code of Conduct and Professional Ethics, demonstrating integrity in all interactions.
