Overview
You will manage a high-volume workers' compensation caseload, owning case files, deadlines, and client communication from intake to resolution. You report to attorneys in the Rockville office, collaborating with a team of paralegals and legal assistants. This role demands precision in document preparation and medical records management. What You'll Do7
- 1Manage a high volume of workers' compensation cases, tracking deadlines and maintaining organized case files
- 2Prepare and file petitions, applications, motions, and subpoenas with courts and administrative bodies
- 3Serve as the primary client contact, updating them on case progress and gathering necessary information
- 4Collect, organize, and review medical records, bills, and supporting documents for case preparation
- 5Research Maryland workers' compensation statutes and procedural changes to support case strategy
- 6Schedule appointments, hearings, and meetings, coordinating with opposing counsel, medical providers, and clients
- 7Prepare trial binders, exhibits, and materials for hearings or trials
Requirements7
- 12+ years of paralegal experience in workers' compensation or personal injury law
- 2Paralegal certification or degree in legal studies preferred
- 3Proficiency in legal research databases and case management software
- 4Strong skills in MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
- 5Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- 6Attention to detail and accuracy in high-volume case handling
- 7Professional demeanor and ability to maintain confidentiality
