Welder, 2nd Shift at Gorbel in Phoenix
Overview
Own the welding and assembly process on second shift for metal parts and products. You’ll read prints and weld symbols to produce accurate weldments, set up and maintain welding tools, and ensure safety and cleanliness on the shop floor. Work with overhead cranes and various shop equipment to support production of material handling and fall protection products. This role offers hands-on fabrication in a growing manufacturing environment with opportunities to advance technical skills.
What You'll Do8
- 1Build weldments according to prints and job paperwork.
- 2Set up, operate, and maintain welding tools and jigs in the work area.
- 3Read and comprehend job paperwork and welding drawings.
- 4Ensure accurate assemblies before painting and perform quality checks.
- 5Operate overhead cranes and other shop equipment safely.
- 6Maintain a clean and organized work area.
- 7Notify supervisor when welding supplies are needed.
- 8Handle materials with forklifts and adhere to safety policies.
Requirements9
- 1High School Diploma or equivalent
- 2Able to pass AWS D14.1 certification test
- 3Certifiable in welding processes SMAW MCAW GMAW and spray arc welding
- 4Experience reading prints and welding symbols
- 5Able to operate flame cutting equipment and basic hand tools
- 6Capable of lifting up to 50 pounds and standing for long periods
- 7Must communicate effectively with factory supervision
- 8Travel across facilities may be required
- 9Able to wear PPE including safety glasses and hearing protection
