Overview

The VP of Operations will lead the Retail, Technology and Healthcare logistics teams to achieve top-tier supply chain performance at scale. You will shape logistics strategy, distribution operations, transportation planning, and customer interaction, driving transformation across the function. You will partner with peers to position Ryder as a top performing supply chain organization while delivering service, cost, and value for customers. You will manage and develop leaders, cultivate customer relationships, and push continuous improvement.

What You'll Do10

  • 1Lead a team to deliver the highest service level, lowest cost and value-added services for customers
  • 2Drive operational execution excellence and implement warehousing and transportation strategy across sites
  • 3Set long term vision for the Retail product, optimize organizational structure and design
  • 4Monitor performance against key service metrics and report externally
  • 5Direct distribution operations, maximize resource utilization and maintain strong customer relationships
  • 6Plan, build and improve distribution tools, processes, equipment, and systems
  • 7Develop inventory management strategies to reduce costs
  • 8Interface with customers to provide visibility to supply chain strategy and partnerships
  • 9Establish performance metrics, resolve complex issues, and foster positive change
  • 10Manage direct staff performance, engagement, and career development

Requirements5

  • 1Bachelor’s degree in Business, operations management or related field
  • 2Minimum of 15 years of experience at large consumer, distribution, 3PL or retail company in supply chain leadership roles
  • 3Strong strategic and tactical execution ability across planning, implementation, and people leadership
  • 4Proven track record of cost management, continuous improvement and change leadership
  • 5Excellent communication, interpersonal and leadership skills to motivate diverse teams at all levels
