Vice President of IT, Nonprofit Technology Leadership
Overview
Own the technology vision, strategy, and execution for Goodwill Industries of Middle Tennessee, a nonprofit with retail and human services operations. As VP of IT, you will lead a high-performing IT team, modernize enterprise systems, and partner with executive peers to drive mission impact. You will establish data governance, strengthen cybersecurity, and manage a multi-million dollar budget. This role requires a people-centered leader who breaks silos and builds trust. You will transform how technology enables the organization's mission through Microsoft 365, Workday HCM, and other enterprise platforms.
What You'll Do10
- 1Develop and execute a multi-year technology roadmap aligned with the organization's strategic goals, prioritizing Microsoft 365 adoption.
- 2Lead cross-departmental initiatives to modernize systems and processes, such as migrating legacy applications to Azure cloud services.
- 3Build and lead a high-performing IT team of 10+ professionals, mentoring them and fostering a culture of accountability.
- 4Establish a robust data governance framework using Microsoft Purview to ensure data quality and compliance with GDPR.
- 5Manage the IT budget of $5M+, optimizing vendor contracts and internal resource allocation.
- 6Drive adoption of Workday HCM across HR and finance to streamline workforce management.
- 7Strengthen cybersecurity posture by implementing Zero Trust architecture and conducting regular penetration testing.
- 8Implement disaster recovery plans and business continuity strategies with Azure Site Recovery.
- 9Serve as a strategic partner to executive leadership, aligning technology investments with mission impact.
- 10Drive innovation through Power Platform applications that automate manual workflows and improve service delivery.
Requirements10
- 110+ years of progressive IT leadership experience, including managing enterprise systems and people.
- 25+ years leading cross-functional initiatives and influencing C-level executives.
- 3Proven experience with Microsoft 365 platform, including Exchange Online, SharePoint, and Teams.
- 4Experience with Workday HCM implementation or administration is a plus.
- 5Strong knowledge of data governance frameworks and GDPR compliance requirements.
- 6Demonstrated success in cybersecurity risk management and NIST frameworks.
- 7Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Business Administration, or related field.
- 8Experience in nonprofit, retail, or multi-site environments preferred.
- 9Exceptional communication skills, translating complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
- 10Track record of leading organizational change and overcoming resistance.
