Overview
Join Lakeview Animal Hospital as a Veterinary Technician or Assistant, where you will own patient care, anesthesia monitoring, and client education in a full-service small animal practice. You'll work alongside veterinarians, the Practice Manager, and support staff, collaborating on digital radiography, dental procedures, and EzyVet recordkeeping. What You'll Do9
- 1Assist veterinarians with examinations, treatments, and procedures, ensuring patient comfort and safety.
- 2Administer medications, perform lab testing, and capture digital radiographs as directed.
- 3Prepare patients for surgery, administer anesthesia, monitor vitals, and manage fluid therapy.
- 4Educate clients on medication instructions, treatment plans, and preventive care with compassion.
- 5Document patient history, treatments, and lab results in EzyVet using SOAP format.
- 6Monitor inventory levels, restock supplies, and check medication expiration dates.
- 7Maintain a clean, safe, and organized hospital environment, following OSHA standards.
- 8Support dental procedures and dental radiography when applicable.
- 9Assist with patient recovery and hospitalization care, ensuring timely updates to the medical team.
Requirements10
- 12+ years experience as a Veterinary Technician or Assistant (required).
- 2High school diploma or equivalent (required).
- 3RVT/LVT/CVT certification preferred.
- 4Degree from an accredited veterinary technology program preferred.
- 5Experience with EzyVet and VetRadar preferred.
- 6Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- 7Ability to multitask in a dynamic clinical setting.
- 8Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- 9Must be at least 18 years old and have reliable transportation.
- 10Physical ability to lift up to 50 pounds and handle animals of varying sizes and temperaments.
