What You'll Do10
- 1Induce, monitor, and recover patients under anesthesia while managing fluid therapy and CRIs.
- 2Perform dental prophylaxis, dental radiographs, and assist with dental extractions.
- 3Place advanced IV catheters and support emergency procedures like resuscitation, airway management, and cardiac massage.
- 4Run in-house diagnostics (CBC, chemistry, urinalysis, fecal, snap tests) and process reference lab samples.
- 5Take and process radiographs, position patients, and prepare for ultrasound procedures.
- 6Calculate and administer medications (SQ, IM, IV) and maintain accurate drug logs.
- 7Educate clients on treatment plans, home care, and preventive protocols, and prepare cost estimates.
- 8Maintain legible records in EzyVet, documenting every finding and treatment with initials.
- 9Mentor veterinary assistants and run the treatment floor during shifts.
- 10Admit and discharge patients, ensuring all charges are accurately entered.
Requirements10
- 1Registered Veterinary Technician (RVT) certification required.
- 22+ years experience as a veterinary assistant or technician.
- 3Associate degree preferred.
- 4At least 18 years old.
- 5Able to stay calm during medical crises.
- 6Genuine enjoyment working with animals and people.
- 7Excellent communication and a team-first attitude.
- 8Capable of lifting and carrying animals up to 40 lbs with assistance.
- 9Comfortable with standing, walking, and bending for extended periods.
- 10Willing to work around animal odors, noise, and potential exposure to bites or contagious diseases.
