What You'll Do8
- 1Place IV catheters and manage fluid therapy for surgical and medical patients.
- 2Monitor anesthesia from induction through recovery, adjusting vaporizer settings and tracking vitals.
- 3Perform dental cleanings and take digital dental radiographs to guide treatment.
- 4Run in-house laboratory tests including hematology, chemistry, and cytology.
- 5Administer medications, vaccines, and treatments as prescribed by veterinarians.
- 6Prepare surgical suites and assist during procedures as a sterile or circulating technician.
- 7Educate pet owners on post-operative care, medication instructions, and preventive health plans.
- 8Maintain accurate medical records and ensure all equipment is clean and calibrated.
Requirements6
- 11+ years of veterinary technician experience in a clinical setting.
- 2Veterinary Technician certification or licensure preferred.
- 3Proficiency in IV catheter placement, anesthesia monitoring, and dental radiography.
- 4Strong patient care skills with a calm, confident handling manner.
