What You'll Do8

  • 1Assist technicians and doctors with exams, treatments, and procedures using IDEXX NEO for patient data entry.
  • 2Restrain animals safely for exams, blood draws, and X-rays using low-stress handling techniques.
  • 3Walk and monitor hospitalized pets including checking vitals and reporting changes to the medical team.
  • 4Perform blood draws, catheter placement, and administer vaccines for dogs and cats.
  • 5Support anesthesia monitoring and patient vitals during surgical procedures.
  • 6Prepare surgical instruments and sterilize equipment following hospital protocols.
  • 7Take medical histories and communicate with clients about patient care and treatment plans.
  • 8Handle administrative tasks including phone calls, scheduling, and cash transactions.

Requirements8

  • 11+ year of experience for Veterinary Technician roles in a clinical setting.
  • 2Proficiency with IDEXX NEO or similar veterinary practice management software.
  • 3Experience with vaccine administration, heartworm testing, and routine diagnostic tests.
  • 4Skill in blood draws, catheter placement, and anesthesia monitoring for dogs and cats.
  • 5Knowledge of sterilization techniques and surgical prep procedures.
  • 6Ability to calculate pharmacological drug doses accurately.
  • 7Comfortable working with cats and dogs in a high-volume environment.
  • 8Ability to lift 50+ lbs during patient handling and hospital maintenance.
