Overview
Willamette Valley Animal Hospital of Clackamas seeks a Veterinary Receptionist/Assistant to own client service at a busy, full-service animal hospital. You will manage front-desk operations, coordinate patient flow, and support medical staff. The role combines reception duties with hands-on animal care, and you will work in a team that values growth and community. You will handle a high volume of daily client interactions, schedule appointments, and process payments, all while ensuring a compassionate experience for pets and their owners.
What You'll Do8
- 1Greet clients and handle walk-ins with a positive attitude, differentiating between routine and emergency cases.
- 2Answer multi-line phones, respond to inquiries, and make referrals to appropriate staff or services.
- 3Schedule visits, process prescription and records requests, and manage client financial transactions.
- 4Admit and discharge patients, ensuring accurate data entry on the web-based Practice Information Management System.
- 5Obtain brief medical histories and communicate effectively between clients and staff, including client education on proper pet care.
- 6Perform animal restraint and assist with animal care as needed, supporting the veterinary team.
- 7Maintain adequate knowledge of basic medical terminology and use Google Docs and Gmail for daily tasks.
- 8Manage time effectively to prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment, ensuring exceptional client service.
Requirements8
- 11 year of experience in a veterinary setting (required).
- 2Proficiency in Google Docs and Gmail.
- 3Familiarity with basic medical terminology and data entry on web-based management systems.
- 4Ability to handle multi-line phone systems and manage high-volume client interactions.
- 5Exceptional time management and the ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- 6Capability to perform animal restraint and assist with animal care.
- 7Strong customer service skills, including handling both routine and emergency client situations.
- 8Must be able to commute to Clackamas, OR 97015 (required).
