What You'll Do10

  • 1Welcome clients and patients with warmth, professionalism, and compassion at the front desk, setting the tone for each visit.
  • 2Answer incoming calls and provide clear, helpful, and courteous client service, resolving questions about appointments, services, and pet care.
  • 3Schedule appointments and coordinate the hospital's daily workflow using Vetcor software, ensuring efficient use of veterinarian time.
  • 4Assist clients during check-in and check-out, processing payments and verifying insurance or payment plans.
  • 5Maintain accurate client and patient information in Vetcor, updating records and documenting communication thoroughly.
  • 6Communicate effectively with veterinarians, technicians, and other team members to coordinate care and relay client concerns.
  • 7Help clients navigate hospital services, recommendations, and general pet-care needs, explaining treatment plans and follow-up instructions.
  • 8Take ownership of assigned responsibilities and follow through to positive outcomes, from managing patient flow to resolving client issues.
  • 9Participate in weekly and monthly team meetings, contributing ideas that improve communication, workflow, and client service.
  • 10Support teammates wherever needed to create an exceptional experience for pets and their people, from stocking supplies to assisting with urgent tasks.

Requirements10

  • 1Previous veterinary reception experience preferred, with a strong understanding of front-desk operations in a clinical setting.
  • 2Excellent customer service and communication skills, with the ability to handle multiple client inquiries at once.
  • 3Strong critical-thinking and problem-solving abilities, especially when managing scheduling conflicts or client concerns.
  • 4The confidence to take ownership of tasks and responsibilities, from managing the front desk to tracking patient flow.
  • 5A positive, supportive approach to clients, patients, and teammates, maintaining professionalism under pressure.
  • 6The ability to stay organized and manage multiple priorities in a busy environment, using Vetcor or similar software.
  • 7A collaborative mindset and commitment to teamwork and mutual respect, supporting colleagues across the hospital.
