Veterinary Receptionist, Specialty Animal Hospital
Overview
Own the front desk at Advanced Veterinary Specialty Center of New England, a specialty hospital handling Neurology, Oncology, and Surgery cases. You will be the first point of contact for clients and their pets, managing appointments, billing, and client communication. Work alongside a collaborative team of veterinary specialists and support staff in a modern facility. What You'll Do7
- 1Greet clients and pets with a professional and compassionate demeanor, setting the tone for their visit.
- 2Schedule appointments and coordinate the front desk workflow to keep the hospital running on time.
- 3Answer phone calls and emails, triaging client questions and relaying messages to the medical team.
- 4Manage patient records in AVImark, ensuring accuracy and confidentiality of client data.
- 5Process billing transactions, including invoices, payments, and insurance claims, using PayPal and QuickBooks.
- 6Facilitate communication between clients, veterinarians, and technicians to ensure seamless care transitions.
- 7Maintain a clean and organized reception area, restocking supplies and updating Microsoft Office spreadsheets.
Requirements8
- 12+ years experience in a veterinary clinic or animal hospital setting.
- 2Proficiency with AVImark or similar practice management software.
- 3Strong working knowledge of veterinary medical terminology and procedures.
- 4Demonstrated ability to handle high-volume phone lines and multi-line phone systems.
- 5Experience with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) for scheduling and client records.
- 6Familiarity with PayPal and QuickBooks for payment processing and billing.
- 7Excellent written and verbal communication skills for client and team interactions.
- 8Ability to lift up to 40 lbs and stand for extended periods, as required in a clinical environment.
