What You'll Do8
- 1Greet visitors, answer telephones, and escort clients and pets to exam rooms.
- 2Schedule and confirm appointments, balancing the needs of clients with doctor availability.
- 3Place outbound calls for follow-ups and reach out to prospective clients to grow the practice.
- 4Present and explain fees, process payments, and handle insurance or payment plans.
- 5Recommend and obtain products and services, including prescriptions, to boost revenue and client satisfaction.
- 6Educate clients on general animal husbandry and non-medical pet care, such as heartworm prevention and flea control.
- 7Manage medical records, charts, reports, and correspondence with accuracy and confidentiality.
- 8Maintain the facility, including disposal of animal waste, to keep the hospital clean and welcoming.
Requirements8
- 11+ years experience in a client service role, preferably in a veterinary or medical setting.
- 2High school diploma or equivalent; associate's degree in animal science or related field a plus.
- 3Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, with a knack for calming anxious pet owners.
- 4Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Practice Management Software (e.g., Avimark or Cornerstone).
- 5Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment, handling phones, in-person clients, and data entry simultaneously.
- 6Comfort with handling animals, including cleaning up after them and assisting with restraint if needed.
- 7Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as part of a rotating schedule.
- 8Must pass a background check and provide proof of eligibility to work in the US.
