What You'll Do10
- 1Assist veterinarians and techs in exams, treatments, and surgeries
- 2Handle and restrain animals for procedures, prioritizing their safety
- 3Feed, water, and exercise animals, monitoring health and behavior
- 4Prepare exam and operating rooms with sterilized instruments and supplies
- 5Administer medications and vaccines under direct supervision
- 6Collect blood, urine, and fecal samples for lab testing
- 7Greet clients, address concerns, and explain care plans
- 8Educate clients on preventive care, nutrition, and post-treatment steps
- 9Schedule appointments, maintain records, and process billing
- 10Keep clinic spotless, dispose of medical waste, and restock supplies
Requirements8
- 1High school diploma or equivalent
- 2Completion of a veterinary assistant program preferred
- 3Previous clinic or animal care experience valued
- 4Strong communication and empathy for animals and owners
- 5Follow detailed instructions with precision
- 6Physical stamina to lift up to 50 pounds and stand for long shifts
