
Vegetation Technician Helper – Minneapolis Seasonal Role
Overview
We seek a motivated individual to join our field operations team for the 2026 season. Safety remains our top priority while maintaining a strict safety culture. This seasonal role involves supporting the Lead Technician in high-precision field work, equipment operation, and site infrastructure maintenance across commercial solar arrays. You will work on a 4-day weekly field schedule with occasional overnight stays. The position offers a competitive compensation range of $50,000 to $60,000 plus benefits.
What You'll Do9
- 1Adhere to stringent safety protocols and maintain situational awareness near high-voltage equipment
- 2Perform detailed vegetation control including mechanical trimming and weed-whipping around electrical equipment
- 3Operate zero-turn mowers to clear large-acreage arrays and perimeter buffers
- 4Assist with minor civil tasks such as fence repair and tree removal using chainsaws
- 5Support identification and removal of invasive plant species
- 6Manage vehicle and trailer operations including loading and securing equipment
- 7Conduct daily cleaning and maintenance of mowers trimmers and chainsaws
- 8Capture site photos and document field conditions for accurate reporting
- 9Drive company vehicles safely and load equipment according to safety standards
Requirements9
- 1High school diploma or equivalent
- 2Valid driver’s license and comfort driving company vehicles
- 3Experience with basic fence repair or gate maintenance
- 4Basic chainsaw operation and brush clearing skills
- 5Ability to lift 50 lbs and walk long distances across uneven terrain
- 6Commitment to personal safety and proper PPE use
- 7Strong attention to detail for site cleanliness and precision trimming
- 8Reliability with early morning departure times
- 9Physical capability to work outdoors in all weather conditions including extreme heat and rain
