VDC Engineer Electrical - Industrial Power Solutions
Overview
VDC Engineer leads electrical shop drawing production and coordination for construction projects. This role focuses on drafting detailed electrical layouts and ensuring field-ready documentation. The position supports project execution through accurate constructible drawings and collaboration with cross-functional teams.
What You'll Do11
- 1Maintain positive working relationships with project managers field teams and design partners
- 2Produce high-quality work safely accurately and productively
- 3Provide feedback to ensure materials tools equipment and information support drawing production
- 4Develop electrical shop drawings including underground conduit layouts aboveground conduit routing and duct bank plans
- 5Model conduit systems and electrical equipment in Revit to validate routing and extract production data
- 6Utilize AutoCAD for detailing and hybrid workflows as needed
- 7Prepare submittal packages for AE review track review comments and maintain Approved for Construction documentation
- 8Identify conflicts and unclear information in contract documents develop RFIs with supporting exhibits
- 9Provide field support clarify installation intent and incorporate approved changes into updated drawings
- 10Perform thorough self-checks before submission to eliminate rework delays and inefficiencies
- 11Manage assigned scopes communicate effectively and work independently
Requirements5
- 12 to 7 years of experience in VDC drafting or construction documentation
- 2Proficiency in Revit AutoCAD Microsoft Excel Word and PDF markup tools
- 3Strong understanding of conduit routing and electrical equipment layout
- 4Ability to work independently manage assigned scopes and communicate effectively
- 5Safety-sensitive mindset with ability to navigate active construction environments
Salary Insight
$72 - $100k per year
