CAD/BIM Operator VDA
Overview
Lead production of accurate technical drawings and models for VDA Design Services. Support project managers engineers and consultants by creating 2D sketches and 3D models of vertical transportation equipment. Ensure compliance with internal standards and project requirements.
What You'll Do13
- 1Create 2D drawings of vertical transportation elements primarily elevators and escalators using AutoCAD software and VDA standards
- 2Produce 3D models of vertical transportation systems utilizing Revit software
- 3Coordinate BIM models with architectural firms and other trades
- 4Generate plan and section sheets from BIM models
- 5Revise 2D CAD drawings and 3D BIM models based on redlines sketches and direction from consultants
- 6Coordinate drawing content with architectural structural mechanical and electrical backgrounds
- 7Maintain drawing accuracy consistency and version control throughout the project lifecycle
- 8Assist with preparation of design submission packages
- 9Gather research data from manufacturers
- 10Support standardization efforts including templates blocks layers and drafting procedures
- 11Organize and maintain project files in accordance with company document control practices
- 12Communicate effectively with internal team members to clarify scope deadlines and technical input
- 13Perform other drafting and design-support tasks as assigned
Requirements10
- 1Associate degree or technical certification in Drafting Design Technology or related field
- 22–5 years of professional CAD drafting experience
- 3Proficiency in AutoCAD
- 4Proficiency in Revit and BIM Collaboration Tools
- 5Strong understanding of drafting standards layering conventions and document coordination
- 6Working knowledge of load calculations
- 7Ability to recognize when calculated load outputs are unreasonable or orders of magnitude outside expected values
- 85+ years of engineering design experience with BIMRevit
- 9Knowledge of the AIA defined design phases and their associated deliverables
- 10Current experience in the vertical transportation industry
