CAD/BIM Operator - Elevator & Escalator Modeling
Overview
You'll produce precise 2D drawings and 3D models for vertical transportation systems across VDA's Design Services. Using AutoCAD and Revit, you'll turn consultant direction into construction-ready deliverables that meet AIA phase standards. You'll coordinate with architectural, structural, and MEP teams to keep BIM models clash-free and current. Your work directly supports elevator and escalator projects that define building safety. This role offers hands-on drafting with clear standards and a collaborative Denver-based team.
What You'll Do10
- 1Create 2D drawings of elevator and escalator components with AutoCAD, including plans, sections, elevations, and details.
- 2Build 3D models of vertical transportation systems using Revit and coordinate them with architectural and MEP backgrounds.
- 3Revise drawings and models from redlines and consultant comments, ensuring version control and accuracy.
- 4Produce plan and section sheets from BIM models for submission packages.
- 5Coordinate drawing content with Revit links and manage shared coordinates across disciplines.
- 6Maintain drawing consistency, layer standards, and file organization per company document control.
- 7Support standardization of templates, blocks, and drafting procedures to improve efficiency.
- 8Gather manufacturer data and integrate into drawings and models.
- 9Communicate with project managers and engineers to clarify scope and technical input.
- 10Assist with design submission packages and additional drafting tasks as assigned.
Requirements10
- 1Associate degree or technical certification in Drafting, Design Technology, or related field.
- 22-5 years of professional CAD drafting experience, with proficiency in AutoCAD.
- 3Proficiency in Revit and BIM collaboration tools.
- 4Strong understanding of drafting standards, layering conventions, and document coordination.
- 5Working knowledge of load calculations; ability to identify unreasonable outputs.
- 6Preferred: 5+ years of engineering/design experience with BIM/Revit.
- 7Knowledge of AIA design phases and associated deliverables.
- 8Current experience in vertical transportation industry preferred.
- 9Ability to read and interpret architectural and engineering drawings.
- 10Strong attention to detail, organization, and time management.
Salary Insight
$75 - $90k per year
