What You'll Do11
- 1Build and operate steam plant equipment including D-type boilers and heat recovery generators
- 2Manage two 1000-ton chiller units and thermal storage system
- 3Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on chillers and cooling towers
- 4Monitor emergency power systems and fire alarm systems across campus
- 5Maintain and repair central bulk oxygen and nitrogen supply systems
- 6Lead team during peak loads and coordinate with engineering staff
- 7Drive operational efficiency improvements in HVAC systems
- 8Ensure compliance with VA regulations and ASME codes
- 9Handle after-hours incidents and notify appropriate personnel
- 10Conduct routine inspections and system checks
- 11Collaborate with cross-functional teams to resolve technical challenges
Requirements11
- 15+ years building and maintaining steam and chiller plant equipment
- 2Certified in AWS Certified Cloud Practitioner or similar cloud certification
- 3Experience with Spark and Airflow for data pipeline development
- 4Background in mechanical systems and HVAC operations
- 5Ability to work in confined spaces and climb ladders
- 6Strong troubleshooting skills for complex equipment
- 7Commitment to safety protocols and regulatory compliance
- 8Physical stamina for lifting up to 40 pounds
- 9Valid driver's license and ability to pass drug screening
- 10Demonstrated leadership experience in supervisory roles
- 11Willingness to work flexible hours including evenings and weekends
