Overview

You will own post-anesthesia recovery for surgical patients at a Boston hospital, managing 3x12-hour night shifts from 7:15 PM to 7:15 AM. You will work with Epic charting and UKG/Kronos timekeeping, within a 13-week contract starting Sep 8, 2026. This role demands active MA RN license and BLS, ACLS, PALS certifications (AHA only). You'll provide critical care immediately after surgery, monitoring vitals and managing pain.

What You'll Do8

  • 1Assess and monitor patients recovering from anesthesia in the PACU, managing immediate post-op complications.
  • 2Administer medications and fluids per physician orders, titrating as needed for pain and hemodynamic stability.
  • 3Document patient status and interventions in Epic, ensuring accurate and timely charting each shift.
  • 4Coordinate with surgical teams and anesthesiologists to transition patients safely to inpatient units or discharge.
  • 5Educate patients and families on post-surgical care and potential complications, promoting recovery.
  • 6Respond to emergencies in the recovery unit, initiating ACLS protocols and stabilizing patients until further support arrives.
  • 7Maintain a sterile and safe environment, adhering to infection control and hospital policies throughout the night shift.
  • 8Use UKG/Kronos to clock shifts and manage time-off requests in compliance with contract terms.

Requirements6

  • 1Active MA RN license (no conditional or pending licenses accepted).
  • 2Current BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications (AHA only).
  • 3Primary source verification of professional license and certifications within 30 days of start, updated upon expiration.
  • 4Both NURSYS and BON verification required for nursing license.
  • 5Flu vaccine required with no religious or medical exemptions allowed.
  • 6Reside 60 miles or more from the facility to be eligible for standard travel rate.
