Overview
You will own critical care for medically complex ICU patients in Boston's Level 1 trauma center, managing ventilators, titrating vasopressors, and responding to rapid decompensation. You join a dedicated MICU team on rotating 12-hour night shifts, every third weekend, with no floating or charge duties. This 13-week contract starts Aug 24, 2026, and demands active MA RN licensure plus 2+ years MICU experience. You will hit the ground running from day one, with weekly Monday orientation and direct manager interviews.
What You'll Do9
- 1Deliver direct patient care to critically ill MICU patients, managing ventilators, CRRT, and vasopressors.
- 2Titrate ACLS-guided interventions during rapid response and code situations.
- 3Monitor Tele/ECG rhythms and adjust care based on real-time telemetry data.
- 4Administer COVID-19 and Flu vaccinations as required by facility policy.
- 5Document patient assessments and interventions in the EPIC EHR system.
- 6Coordinate with the interdisciplinary team for daily rounds and care planning.
- 7Perform Medication competency testing to ensure safe administration of high-risk drugs.
- 8Complete ECG competency testing to interpret arrhythmias and ischemia.
- 9Maintain MA RN license compliance and adhere to AHA standards for CPR and ACLS.
Requirements9
- 1Active MA RN license required.
- 2Current CPR (AHA) and ACLS (AHA) certifications.
- 32+ years of related MICU work experience.
- 4Level 1 trauma center experience required.
- 5Completion of Tele/ECG and Medication competency testing.
- 6Must reside >50 miles from the facility.
- 7COVID-19 (with booster) and Flu vaccinations required (medical exemptions allowed).
- 8No floating or charge responsibilities required.
- 9First-time travelers may be considered.
