PACU RN, Day/Night Rotating
Overview
You will own post-anesthesia care for a 3+ year experienced nurse in a 36-hour week role with a 50% Day/Night rotation. You will join a Level I academic medical center team, working up to 2 weekend shifts per month. This role demands travel expertise in PACU and a commitment to high-acuity recovery.
What You'll Do7
- 1Manage post-anesthesia recovery for diverse surgical cases, ensuring patient stability and safe discharge.
- 2Collaborate with anesthesia and surgical teams to execute individualized care plans.
- 3Document patient assessments and interventions accurately in the EPIC EHR system.
- 4Titrate pain management and monitor for complications in the immediate post-op period.
- 5Coordinate with bed management to optimize patient flow and reduce recovery times.
- 6Educate patients and families on post-operative care and discharge instructions.
- 7Respond to emergencies with rapid assessment and intervention, stabilizing patients until transfer.
Requirements7
- 13 years of RN experience in a PACU setting.
- 21 year of travel PACU experience.
- 31 year in an Academic Medical Center.
- 4Active Massachusetts RN license.
- 5BLS and ACLS certifications.
- 6Successful completion of Criminal Background Check and CORI.
- 7Clear TB test and Respirator Fit Test clearance.
