Transportation Planner, Logistics & TMS Operations
Overview
Own the load tendering and carrier management within a regional network at a leading beverage bottler. Scale transportation operations using a TMS to balance service levels and cost across multiple lanes. Collaborate with Plant, DC, and Supply Chain Planning teams to support surge periods and production alignments. Bring focus to load prioritization, carrier performance, and proactive issue resolution to maintain on time delivery.
What You'll Do6
- 1Build and manage the load tendering process with contract carriers through the TMS
- 2Design carrier awards and lane assignments to maximize capacity and minimize costs
- 3Coordinate dock scheduling with Plant and DC teams to handle surge demands
- 4Drive cost control by following routing guidelines that optimize service and price
- 5Track prioritized loads with Fourkites updates and provide proactive alerts to leadership
- 6Back up Transportation team members to ensure continuity during absences or peak periods
Requirements10
- 1High School Diploma or GED required
- 2Minimum two years of college preferred
- 32+ years experience in a Logistics environment with Common Carrier or 3PL
- 4Experience managing transport routing through an IT based model (TMS) preferred
- 5TMS systems experience (Oracle, BluJay, others) preferred
- 6Office Suite experience (Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) required
- 7Carrier management experience in a 3PL or shipper environment
- 8Analytical skills to determine driver productivity and carrier performance
- 9Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- 10Transportation Management knowledge including geography, regional carriers, rate levels, and tendering loads
