Overview
You will own end-to-end freight coordination for complex infrastructure projects across land, rail, and water, managing high-volume loads for a Fortune 500 parent company. You will work with a team that sources carriers, negotiates rates, and ensures on-time delivery across the U.S. TMS platforms and load boards like DAT and Truckstop are your daily tools. This role stands out for its focus on project-based freight, including flatbed and heavy haul, supporting construction and energy clients. What You'll Do9
- 1Coordinate freight movements for FTL, LTL, flatbed, and specialized equipment from origin to delivery
- 2Source and secure capacity by working directly with carriers, brokers, and transportation providers
- 3Negotiate rates and service terms to ensure cost-effective and reliable transportation solutions
- 4Manage the full load lifecycle: posting, rate confirmation, tracking, check calls, and delivery verification
- 5Monitor shipments in real-time and resolve delays, breakdowns, or reassignments proactively
- 6Build and maintain relationships with carrier networks and transportation partners
- 7Utilize TMS platforms and load boards (DAT, Truckstop) to execute and track shipments
- 8Handle multiple loads and lanes simultaneously in a high-volume environment
- 9Identify cost savings and process improvements to enhance operational efficiency
Requirements8
- 1Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, or related field preferred
- 21-5+ years of experience in freight brokerage or 3PL, with direct experience booking loads and negotiating carrier rates
- 3Strong understanding of FTL/LTL, carrier networks, freight lanes, and market pricing
- 4Experience in a fast-paced, high-volume brokerage or logistics environment
- 5Experience with flatbed, heavy haul, or project-based freight in construction, energy, or infrastructure
- 6Ability to negotiate effectively and secure capacity quickly
- 7Strong problem-solving skills to manage delays, disruptions, and real-time issues
- 8Excellent communication skills with a strong sense of urgency and high attention to detail
