Overview

Owns setup, programming, and operation of CNC milling machines in a climate controlled die shop. You will interpret complex blueprints, write and modify programs at the machine, and ensure precision output with micrometers and calipers. You’ll manage multiple machines and tasks in a 2nd shift environment and drive quality through careful process control. This role offers hands-on work in a tight tolerance manufacturing environment and opportunities to improve machining conditions.

What You'll Do10

  • 1Build and set up CNC milling operations from drawings and determine machining requirements
  • 2Write and modify G-Code and M-Code programs at the machine to optimize feed, speed, and depth of cut
  • 3Adjust cutters and zero positions to achieve tight tolerances and consistent fits
  • 4Run multiple machines during long program cycles while maintaining quality and throughput
  • 5Monitor machine performance, troubleshoot operations, and ensure parts meet all quality standards
  • 6Read detailed blueprints and engineering drawings to determine machining requirements
  • 7Prepare upcoming jobs while current jobs are running to reduce setup time
  • 8Measure parts with micrometers and calipers to within .005 mm or 0.0002 inches
  • 9Load and pull programs from server to CNC mills using basic computer skills
  • 10Maintain safe practice and proper handling of materials in a climate controlled shop

Requirements6

  • 1At least 2 years of CNC milling programming and operation experience
  • 2Ability to read and interpret blueprints and engineering drawings
  • 3Proficiency in setting up CNC mills, including indicating parts and setting zero positions
  • 4Experience with Fanuc style G-Code and M-Code
  • 5Experience using micrometers, calipers, and measuring tools to tight tolerances
  • 6Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work night shift hours as described
