Overview
We seek a motivated Thrift Store Associate to join our team in Bound Brook, NY. This fast-paced production role focuses on receiving donations and preparing merchandise for sale. Responsibilities include sorting grading inspecting organizing preparing and shipping items while maintaining safety standards. What You'll Do8
- 1Sort grade and inspect donations including textiles housewares electronics shoes and accessories for quality and condition
- 2Tag and price merchandise according to company standards meeting production goals per hour
- 3Prepare items on rolling racks and carts for transport to the sales floor ensuring full fixtures
- 4Organize and separate items for e-commerce and clearance departments accurately labeling all goods
- 5Follow safety procedures and operational guidelines to maintain a clean and secure work environment
- 6Provide excellent customer and donor service accepting donations issuing receipts and keeping donation areas tidy
- 7Support Goodwill’s mission by maximizing efficiency and productivity in daily tasks
- 8Perform other duties as assigned to support the store team and broader organizational goals
Requirements5
- 1High school diploma or equivalent preferred
- 2Prior experience in customer service donation processing retail or warehouse environments is a plus
- 3Ability to provide friendly respectful service to diverse donors and customers
- 4Comfortable performing physical tasks including lifting sorting and standing for extended periods
- 5Basic communication and teamwork skills
