Thermal Project Manager at Invenergy LLC
Overview
Lead a thermal power plant project from inception to commercial operation. Guide cross-functional teams through development and construction phases. Deliver projects within scope while optimizing budget and schedule. This role differs by focusing on direct technical supervision and strategic coordination across all project stages.
What You'll Do11
- 1Coordinate project efforts across lifecycle under senior management guidance to meet scope budget and schedule targets
- 2Manage workload and resources while fostering seamless discipline coordination
- 3Oversee administrative tasks including purchase orders and EPC agreements
- 4Monitor contractor performance against budget and schedule metrics
- 5Report risks progress and schedule updates to management
- 6Collaborate with contractors on SOIs RFIs RFPs RFQs and other documentation
- 7Prepare financial models with commercial finance team supporting project financing
- 8Optimize design CAPEX and OPEX through engineering area partnerships
- 9Liaise with procurement on supplier evaluations and vendor negotiations
- 10Assist in contract preparation with OEMs suppliers and vendors
- 11Participate in permitting development electrical interconnection and project approvals
Requirements10
- 1Bachelor’s degree in mechanical civil electrical or structural engineering
- 25+ years managing large-scale construction projects
- 3Proven experience with combustion power plants gas turbines steam turbines and reciprocating engines
- 4Strong leadership communication and teamwork abilities across organizational levels
- 5Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite especially Excel
- 6Ability to travel up to 25% with flexible scheduling
- 7Master’s degree preferred with power generation industry experience
- 8Site experience in active projects
- 9Experience managing contractor interfaces and negotiations
- 10High integrity and ethical standards
Salary Insight
$118 - $165k per year
