Overview

Diversified Treatment Alternative Centers seeks a dedicated Therapeutic Recreation Specialist to support residential treatment for female adolescents ages 12-17. This role uses recreation as a therapeutic intervention to help youth develop healthy coping skills improve social functioning and achieve long-term success in a trauma-informed environment.

What You'll Do11

  • 1Ensure safety supervision and well-being of all clients
  • 2Conduct functional baseline assessments to identify client strengths and needs
  • 3Develop and implement individualized and group recreation treatment plans
  • 4Plan and facilitate on-site and off-site recreational activities
  • 5Co-facilitate psychoeducational and skills-based groups
  • 6Support adherence to clinical models including DBT-A Model
  • 7Maintain accurate documentation including progress notes and incident reports
  • 8Collaborate with therapists leadership and treatment team members
  • 9Transport clients to appointments when required
  • 10Maintain professional boundaries and ensure HIPAA compliance
  • 11Participate in scheduled shift coverage including evenings weekends and holidays

Requirements8

  • 1High school diploma or equivalent with a minimum of 3 years of therapeutic recreation or related experience OR Bachelors degree in Therapeutic Recreation OR Bachelors degree in a Human Services field with residential programming experience
  • 2Active CTRS Certified Therapeutic Recreation Specialist credential
  • 3Minimum of 3 years of relevant experience
  • 4Strong documentation organization and communication skills
  • 5Ability to pass required background clearances
  • 6Commitment to maintaining sight-line supervision standards
  • 7Compliance with all training and regulatory requirements
  • 8Flexible schedule availability including evenings weekends and holidays
