What You'll Do7

  • 1Coach youth one-on-one and in groups to develop skills in relationships, school, recreation, health, career, and daily living.
  • 2Teach independent living skills like hygiene, housekeeping, and meal preparation.
  • 3Model relationship-building and coach coping skills to help youth manage emotions.
  • 4Use TCI techniques to help youth regulate and express emotions safely.
  • 5Maintain a safe and inviting living environment by regularly cleaning the residence.
  • 6Document client progress, medication management, and recovery as they transition to adulthood.
  • 7Fill in for full-time residential staff to ensure consistent care.

Requirements7

  • 1High School diploma or GED and 25+ years of age, or Associates degree or higher and 21+ years of age.
  • 2Passion for mental health advocacy.
  • 3Effective communication and relationship-building skills.
  • 4Compassion and respect when working in someone's home.
  • 5Patience and willingness to meet youth where they are.
  • 6Good writing skills and attention to detail.
  • 7Ability to perform TCI restraint techniques, including lifting 40 pounds and kneeling.
